Everything else
Fortnite is the closest thing we have to a metaverse so far

Our vision
This past week we had major updates across a wide variety of industries. Spatial computing doesn’t seem to have major updates besides the usual discussion around Apple vs Meta vs the up and coming Samsung/Google tandem. There are plenty of smaller companies bringing smart glasses to the market but I doubt they’ll get the market penetration that the big brands will once they make a hit device with a killer app ecosystem.
The Zuckerberg investigation into virtual cells in addition to Kosmos and all the other AI assisted medical breakthroughs that are going on are a testament to AI’s staying power and importance across verticals. In the past other technologies have come and gone to be replaced by something better. AI is an entire new category, intelligence on demand. The only thing replacing it is a better version. With how quickly it’s advancing after seeing the leaks of Nano Banana 2 it would be a good idea to start dabbling with these creative tools where at a click of a button you can bring an idea to life.
Brief detour - Robots playing Red Rocks with Deadmau5 wasn’t on my 2025 bingo card. GTA is delayed again. This game better be amazing after all this time and hype. Also Elon could be paid $1 trillion? That’s an astronomically high number but if he hits the criteria they set for him maybe he deserves it? Imagine what he’s invest that money in as his next venture.
Lastly let’s touch on Fortnite and Japan. Two things near and dear to our hearts. Both are in the entertainment/gaming space. Fortnite on one hand is the closest thing we’ve ever had to a modern day metaverse. The amount of pop culture IP that they have integrated from the Simpsons to the Power Rangers and the Ninja Turtles is creating a universe that the next generation is eager to explore. The more characters and celebrities they add, the more time and money people are going to spend in the virtual world.
Now onto Japan. After seeing both Chainsaw Man and Demon Slayer in theaters we can confirm that the time for anime to become mainstream is now. After Demon Slayer became the highest-grossing international film in U.S. box office history and the success of Chainsaw Man Japan recently announced they will be expanding the reach of their entertainment and video games. The $130 billion doesn’t seem too out of rich given that Netflix is making live adaptations and the world champion Dodgers have partnered with One Piece.
We are slowly walking into the sci-fi future that some of the best minds of our time have written about like Star Wars, Dune and Terminator. What might seem surreal is happening quicker than you think. Humanoid robots, flying cars, data centers in space, welcome to the 2020s.
